Business Development Scout — Multi-Agent Market Research Platform
Ajaia built Scout, a configurable multi-agent platform that discovers companies across a geography and returns a structured investment verdict on each.
The Opportunity
The firm evaluates local-market businesses, the kind of companies where the investment case turns on the specifics of a geography: who else operates there, what demand looks like, and what the market will bear on price. Every one of those assessments was built by hand. An analyst would pick a company, pull competitive listings, piece together demand signals, and benchmark pricing before the team could form a view.
The work was sound, but it was serial. The team could only hold as many opportunities in view as its analysts had hours to research, and each finished file began going stale the day it was completed. Research throughput was the binding constraint on sourcing.
Key Challenges
Every file was built one company at a time, capping the top of the funnel at analyst hours.
Competitive sets, demand signals, and pricing comps lived apart and were rebuilt for every single memo.
Each analyst weighed evidence their own way, so verdicts could not be compared side by side at pipeline review.
Research started aging the day it was finished, and nobody had hours to refresh a file before the next decision.
The Process
Mapped the firm's diligence process and the market, financial, and pricing signals behind each verdict.
Defined specialist analysts for competition, demand, and pricing, assembled into teams matched to the thesis.
Built zip-code and radius company discovery, scheduled research runs, and a structured verdict report.
Tuned verdicts against deals the firm had already worked until calls matched senior judgment, then shipped.
Our Solution
Scout is a configurable multi-agent platform that finds companies in any target area and scores them for investment. Location-based discovery surfaces every relevant company within a target zip code or radius, so screening starts from the full market. Admins assemble specialized AI analysts for competition, demand, and pricing, tailored to each investment thesis. Research runs on a schedule and returns a structured report with a clear call: high potential, neutral, or risky.
Key Capabilities
Impact
Scout changed the arithmetic of local-market sourcing. Analysts who carried a handful of files per cycle now screen 30 or more additional opportunities, each scored against the same criteria, so verdicts sit side by side at pipeline review in a consistent format. The roughly 20 hours that each diligence file used to consume are now spent on the investment decision itself. And because research refreshes on a schedule, the memo in front of the investment team describes the market as it stands today.

- 20 hours saved per diligence report, redirected to the investment decision
- Consistent scoring criteria applied to every company, making verdicts comparable across the pipeline
- Scheduled research refreshes keep every file current between decisions
- Full local-market screening from a single platform
