The Opportunity

The firm raises capital constantly, which means its inventory is investor intelligence: who allocates to what, who moved firms, whose mandate just changed. To hold that inventory the firm paid for several premium databases, Preqin, Dakota, FinTrx, ZoomInfo, and PitchBook among them, at roughly $20K per seat. The subscriptions all disagreed with each other. The same allocator appeared in four systems with three titles and two emails, and an analyst preparing outreach had to open each platform, compare the records by eye, decide which version to believe, and key the winner into Dynamics 365 by hand.
